Physical therapy

What is physical therapy?

Physical therapy is a medical discipline focused on the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of movement disorders and dysfunctions of the musculoskeletal system. Its primary goal is to reduce pain, improve mobility and restore normal body function after injury, surgery or as a result of chronic conditions.

In modern rehabilitation, physical therapy is an important part of the recovery process because it helps the body restore the function of tissues and joints naturally. Treatment procedures are tailored to each patient according to their symptoms, health status and rehabilitation goals.

At our clinic, physical therapy includes a range of modern therapeutic methods used independently or in combination, depending on the patient's needs. After the initial examination and assessment, the physiotherapist creates a treatment plan aimed at relieving symptoms and improving movement function in the long term.

The role of physical therapy in rehabilitation

Physical therapy plays an important role both in treating existing problems and in preventing new injuries. It can help reduce pain, speed up recovery and improve quality of everyday life.

Treatment may focus on:

  • reducing pain and inflammation
  • improving joint mobility
  • relaxing tense muscles and stimulating weakened muscle groups
  • supporting tissue regeneration after injury
  • improving circulation and reducing swelling
  • preparing the body for the active phase of rehabilitation through kinesitherapy

Depending on the diagnosis and the patient's condition, physical therapy may include different methods such as electrotherapy, magnetotherapy, ultrasound therapy, laser therapy and cryotherapy, as well as other modern procedures aimed at reducing pain and supporting recovery.

Physical therapy at Fizio Glišić clinic

When is physical therapy recommended?

Physical therapy is recommended for a wide range of acute and chronic conditions that affect mobility, function and quality of life. It is commonly used for back, neck and shoulder pain, sports injuries, strains and sprains, joint problems, postoperative recovery, and degenerative changes affecting the spine and limbs.

It can also be important for conditions such as sciatica, disc herniation, tennis elbow, painful muscle and tendon syndromes, swelling after injury, reduced mobility after immobilization, and recovery following fractures and orthopedic procedures.

Starting physical therapy at the right time can contribute to faster recovery, reduce the risk of complications, and support a safer return to daily activities, work or sport.

Types of physical therapy

The Glišić clinic uses modern physical therapy methods tailored to each patient.

01

Laser therapy

Laser therapy supports tissue recovery, reduces inflammation and helps relieve pain.

02

Cryotherapy

Cryotherapy uses controlled cooling to reduce swelling, inflammation and pain.

03

Electrotherapy

Electrotherapy uses gentle electrical impulses to support muscle activation and pain reduction.

04

Magnetotherapy

Magnetotherapy supports circulation and tissue regeneration, and can help reduce chronic pain.

05

Ultrasound therapy

Ultrasound therapy supports deeper tissue recovery and helps reduce muscle tension.

06

Thermotherapy

Thermotherapy applies controlled heat to relax muscles and improve circulation.

07

Game Ready therapy

Game Ready therapy combines cold and compression to support faster recovery.

Modern therapy equipment

Modern technology for faster recovery and effective pain relief.

AcheAway Scraper

AcheAway Scraper

The AcheAway Scraper is designed for soft tissue and fascial treatment using controlled mechanical stimulation. The treatment helps relax tense muscles, improve local circulation, and increase mobility in the treated area.

Magnetotherapy device

Magnetotherapy device

The magnetotherapy device uses a pulsed magnetic field that acts on tissues without direct mechanical stress. The therapy is used to relieve pain, support regeneration, and improve recovery in various injuries and musculoskeletal conditions.

Red light cupping therapy

Red light cupping therapy

Red light cupping therapy combines controlled suction and light stimulation in the treatment of muscles and soft tissues. The therapy helps relax tense areas, improve local circulation, and support recovery after physical strain.
